PERCCOM students of cohort 2 are arriving to Luleå city in north of Sweden for their third semester of Master studies which will take a place in Luleå technical University LTU.
The Luleå University Reception Committee (LURC) along with the international office at LTU have prepared a rich welcome week activities for international students at LTU.
These activities included trips, academic workshops, tours in the city and parties!
A special event took a place on Thursday 27th of August, where students had a guided tour in the city of Lulea followed by a meeting at the city municipality.
The mayor of Luleå Ms. Maritha Meethz as well as the other members of the city council have welcomed students and gave a presentation telling the history of the city and explained how it has transformed into a major research center in Sweden in sciences like mining and materials science in addition to hosting – since 2012 – the first Facebook datacenter outside the united states.
After the reception at the city hall, a tasty Swedish lunch was served at the Kulterns Hus (Culture house) of Luleå.
The new semester starts officially on Monday 31st of August and last until the end of December.
