Prof. Birgit Penzenstadler is visiting LUT and giving a seminar on « Software Engineering for Sustainability ». Today (29.3.2016) the seminar started with a great overview of what does sustainability mean in software development and what are the common misconceptions about it (based on the Karlskrona Manifesto for sustainability design).
During the following two weeks, students will prototype a business idea that should be conceptualized having sustainability as a system requirement. The topics that are going to be approached by the students are: food waste, recycling, unemployment and physical inactivity, rental prices and lack of facilities.
