Cisco and its partners are running a one year experience in Paris, Place de nation (large, circular plaza in the eastern part of Paris) in close collaboration with the Paris government in the context of the city open innovation program. While the technology can help the city of Paris to understand the way citizens are living on the plaza, the data should allow the city government to allocate funds to the right solutions and measure the impacts of renovations. For doing so, flow counts (video analysis, wifi / bluetooth), noise measurement, air quality, humidity / temperature, waste container, etc. … are part of the data set produced and pushed to aggregation platform (incl. Open data), big data analytics platform, for being used by 3rd party applications or data scientist.
