The 2nd Economic Performance, Environmental Innovation, Climate and Energy Policy Seminar at Saint Petersburg State University took place on 30th September. The seminar gathered researchers from all over the world to present their forecasts about the intersection of climate change and economics. Jari and Victoria went there to introduce how ICTs can support sustainable development.
Prof. Porras presented a paper titled: Technology vs Human Perceptions of Sustainability. This article studies the current perceptions of sustainability and the challenges to incorporate human and cultural perspectives in it. The paper used some of the results from the PERCCOM students (cohort 3) whom participated in the « Green IT course » during spring 2016 at LUT.
Meanwhile, MSc Victoria Palacin-Silva presented part of her PhD topic: Participatory Sensing for Sustainability. This paper described how greening for ICT applications can engage massive audiences and support policies and climate agreements formulation and implementation. » Victoria Palacin (cohort 1)
