Professor Md. Shahadat Hossain was invited by LTU to give a lecture to PERCCOM students.
- Information about the lecture : « Real world can be delineated as a system of non-linear and complex due to the fact that uncertainty is embedded in our everyday life. The traditional computing paradigm is unable to compute this phenomenon and hence, a new paradigm of computing with evolutionary nature is necessary. Therefore, the talk presented a novel method of computing reality, known as Belief Rule Base (BRB), where evidential reasoning embedded to support the inference under uncertainty. The application of this method demonstrated especially to develop various kinds of expert systems under certainty to address real world issues such as human sensing, e-Government evaluation, traffic signal control, surveillance assessment, diagnosis of diseases such as influenza, measles. In addition, the research questions that were trying to answer in our (with Professor Karl Anderson) Swedish Research Council’s awarded project entitled “A Belief Rule Based DSS to Assess Flood Risks using Wireless Sensor Networks” presented. »
Professor Md. Shahadat Hossain and Karl Andersson had also a meeting with Abdo Ashraf and Sumeet Thombre to discuss about their Master thesis.
